AGLOW CONFERENCE REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

Registration is now open for the 2022 AGLOW Annual Conference, to be held September 18-22 at the Chateau on the Lake Resort, Spa and Convention Center in Branson, Missouri.

“We were in Branson in 2012 and it was a spectacular location. The membership speaks about it frequently. From the host facility to the wide variety of things to do in the area, it was really just a top-notch location,” Mark Smith, AGLOW Executive Director commented.

While the host facility will be the same as it was in 2012, the conference schedule has had a bit of a shakeup.

Trent Marsh, AGLOW Treasurer and SPYPOINT Trail Camera Editorial Manager added, “I was excited when the opportunity to chair the conference committee came along. I’ve spent a lot of time in the last few years talking to members about where AGLOW is, and how to keep it moving forward. Conversations often came back to making sure we were wringing every second of opportunity out of our conference schedule, without making it feel onerous or depleting. Branson is a great destination.”

“Coupled with a new conference schedule, and some fresh ideas for some tried-and-true concepts, our visit to Branson is one I am very excited about,” he concluded.

An unexpected benefit of the Branson selection is how central it is to so much of the membership, new and returning. With gas prices up, a centrally located conference makes attending much easier for everyone.

“We certainly didn’t plan it that way,” said Smith, “but we’ve already heard from some of the members that they are really happy with the location, just for the logistics of them getting there.”

In light of that central location, and how anxious everyone is to get back to doing things, AGLOW has extended conference attendance to any member of a state-based outdoor writer organization as well.

“With so many state organizations needing to postpone or cancel their events, we wanted to extend the option to their members to attend our conference if they so wished. We are all ready to get back to seeing each other, collaborating, and finding new way to work together. That’s far easier when we can sit around a table together. So anyone that wants to try AGLOW out for the first time, we’re extending that olive branch,” added Smith.

“We already have members in almost every state in the nation. Just because we have the Great Lakes in our name, doesn’t mean our membership isn’t nationwide,” he added.
