A few months ago, I received the AttachACam in the mail. Because I did not have the opportunity to get out this winter to hunt, the AttachACam, a camera mount that allows a hunter to capture a hunt from the hunter’s perspective, sat waiting in my gear box. Last week, I finally got the chance to test out this unit when I went out for some turkey hunting. I installed the AttachACam unit on my shotgun and while we didn’t get a bird on film, we did get some pretty good footage.
I like that this unit is solid and versatile. There are several ways it can be set up: to the side, below, or on top of the barrel of a firearm. With this kind of functionality, it is one of the better camera brackets for hunting and shooting. It will work with blind brackets as well for a look back into the blind.
I especially like that this particular unit can be used on my bow stabilizer in addition to my shotgun. I look forward to using this AttachACam with the bow for practice and hunting.
The unit comes with a black felt strip that prevents it from marring or scratching the barrel the gun it is mounted to. While this is a great idea, I found the process of installing the felt strip difficult. If you are not extremely patient while putting this unit on, it can scratch your weapon.
Another recommendation: if you are planning to use the AttachACam while hunting, use it while you are practicing with your rifle, shotgun or bow. You will want to know how this unit works and feels mounted on your weapon before you get into the field and Mr. Big steps out in front of you!! You don’t want the added weight of your camera to unexpectedly throw off your shot!
The AttachACam is tooled from aluminum and stainless steel. The unit allows still or video cameras to be mounted on the firearm. It comes in camo, pink camo, and a unique skull pattern, along with the standard black.
