The Florida Open Season Sportsman’s Expo is this weekend at the RP Funding Center in the Lakeland, Friday, June 22 through Sunday, June 24.
The Florida Expo features the latest products, gear and equipment for hunting, fishing and outdoor enthusiasts. Attendees will have the chance to meet industry insiders, attend educational seminars and demonstrations, test out the newest products and shop for show special deals. Attendees can also enter to win door prizes all weekend.
Always a highlight for attendees of all ages will be Byron Ferguson performing his widely popular Trick Shot Archery Show. The native of Alabama has been known to shoot a Lifesaver candy with his traditional bow and also shares various entertaining and often humorous stories from hunting excursions over the years.
Jason Clark will be hosting his entertaining and educational Snake Show. Known as the Southeastern Snake Encounter, the native of Georgia utilizes venomous and nonvenomous snakes of the Southeastern United States. Clark is a nationally recognized reptile handler with over 30 years of wildlife experience and is a certified Master Naturalist through the University of Georgia.
Misty Wells, host of the popular outdoor adventure travel show, “Let’s Take it Outside,” will be part of the Florida Seminar Series. The seminar that Wells will host, covers the 101 of Scalloping, tried and true methods of Lobstering, along with new technology to be successful (with a giveaway at each seminar).
Wells will then transition into hunting, as now is the time to be getting hunting stands ready, moving them if need be, cutting branches, hanging out game camera’s and looking into food plots. The Florida native has tried and true methods that can help hunters get into and out of the woods unscented and be ready to bag that buck when the season opens or take down that hog anytime.
As part of her booth at the Expo, Wells will have a Kids Zone that will feature live alligators for educational purposes.
