HAVA completes Major Fundraiser to get Veterans Afield

Longmeadow, MA – Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA) announces record results from the organization’s 2010 fundraiser. All proceeds will help HAVA in its goal of assisting disabled American veterans with re-integration into civilian life.20100604_Hava

The 2010 raffle raised nearly $10,000 from contributions by industry employees and NRA members who responded positively to the HAVA appeal and the chance to win 29 different prizes – including a Yamaha ATV, two Smith & Wesson long guns and other valuable prizes from Leupold & Stevens, Crimson Trace, Hornady and SureFire.

“We are truly grateful by how much people stepped up in tough financial times,” said Tom Taylor, HAVA Chairman. “This tremendous support from our sponsors and contributions from individuals will allow us to increase our support of men and women who have given so much to support our way of life,”

Tickets were sold for $20.00 each, and nearly 500 people stepped up to support this worthy cause during the SHOT Show and NRA Convention. The drawing was held on Sunday, May 16, during the NRA Show, and all prizes have been awarded.

The prizes, donated by various HAVA sustaining and corporate sponsors, included the following:

* Grand Prize

o Yamaha Grizzly 550 FI EPS ATV with an assortment of SureFire products ($12,000 approx. value).

* 1st Prizes
o Smith & Wesson M&P-15T Tactical Rifle with Leupold Mark 4 Riflescope and Crimson Trace MVF-515 fore-grip ($3,532 approx. value)
o Smith & Wesson Elite Silver Shotgun ($2,380 approx. value)

* 2nd Prize
o Leupold Gold Ring 10×42 Binocular ($899 approx. value)

* 3rd Prizes
o Four (4) Crimson Trace Laser Grips ($299-$479/each approx. value)
o One (1) Hornady Ammo Assortment ($300 approx. value)

* 4th Prizes
o Twenty (20) SureFire G2L Flashlights ($69/each approx. value)

The HAVA organization aims to help the healing and re-integration of disabled American veterans back into their lives as civilians through participation in outdoor recreational events and activities – offering veterans a sense of joy and accomplishment and a permanent awareness that these activities are still possible despite disabling injuries.
