JNJ Outdoors Hires Bryan Weight as Senior Vice President of Marketing

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – When parent company JNJ Apparel decided to go all in on expanding their apparel designs and production to the outdoor market with their recently created division, JNJ Outdoors, they knew they needed an industry insider who shared their passion for hunting and fishing but was also capable of rapidly building brands and leveraging relationships in the industry to expand the business. They found that heavy hitter in Bryan Weight, who was recently named Senior Vice President of Marketing for JNJ Outdoors.

Weight, an avid outdoorsman, has worked exclusively in a marketing-intensive capacity in the outdoor industry since 2016, bringing to JNJ Outdoors both experience and a fresh, youthful vision, which has driven the overall success of the JNJ Apparel brand since its inception in 2004. Weight began his outdoor career with Gator Waders where he served as Chief Marketing Officer of the company’s Hunt Division. From there he joined with upstart shotgun manufacturer Retay as Chief Marketing Officer where he helped build the brand from the ground up. He then enjoyed a brief stint as Vice President of Brand Development with Big Frig, a high-end, designed for the sportsman cooler and tumbler manufacturer, before accepting the position with JNJ Apparel.

“We’ve been working with outdoor-focused clients for years, so it was a natural move to create JNJ Outdoors, which can focus solely on broadening our footprint in that space,” says Nick Wright, president of JNJ Apparel. “Bryan will be instrumental in helping us achieve that. He brings a love for and understanding of the outdoors, a wealth of industry insight and deep knowledge of how to grow sporting brands that will prove invaluable.”

Weight is in the process of moving to the Tuscaloosa, Ala., area where JNJ is based but is already hard at work in the home office.
