October is NWTF Month at Bass Pro Stores Nationwide

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Bass Pro Shops and the National Wild Turkey Federation have a long-running partnership in conservation and during October, all Bass Pro stores will help shoppers “Rediscover the Power of Family Togetherness” during its NWTF month.

During the entire month, shoppers at all 46 Bass Pro stores nationwide can donate $2 to the NWTF to enter the NWTF month sweepstakes. First prize is a fully guided hunt for trophy whitetails in Manitoba, Canada, or a guided hunt for Eastern and Rio Grande wild turkeys in Kansas and Missouri, or an Alaskan fishing trip with world-class accommodations. The grand prize trip will be arranged by the Outdoor Connection.

Additional prizes include the NWTF’s 2008 NWTF Gun of the Year, Team NWTF/Leupold binoculars & scope and a pair of NWTF bronze wildlife sculptures.

“The fun doesn’t stop with the sweepstakes,” said Dick Rosenleib NWTF’s senior vice president for sales and marketing. “Bass Pro has been gracious enough to allow us to hold all types of events in their stores in October — from co-hosting Wheelin’ Sportsman deer hunts to hosting our Hunting Heritage banquets — their hospitality speaks volumes to the great partnership we’re so proud of.”

Bass Pro Shops is a corporate sponsor of the NWTF — a national nonprofit wildlife conservation organization dedicated to the conservation of the wild turkey and preservation of the hunting tradition.

“We are very proud to partner with the NWTF and their work in conservation, helping special needs hunters, getting women involved in the outdoors and youth education,” said Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris. “Dedicating this month to NWTF is just one of our ways of thanking NWTF and their thousands of grassroots volunteers for all they do.”

The month-long promotion at Bass Pro Shops will raise awareness for the need to conserve wildlife habitat, remind families to spend time together in the field and celebrate the long-term partnership between Bass Pro Shops and the Federation.

They continue to show their commitment to America’s hunting and conservation legacy as well as the NWTF,” said Rob Keck, NWTF CEO. “With partners such as Bass Pro Shops and with the caliber of volunteers we have involved with the NWTF, we are sure to continue doing big things for our conservation and hunting heritage.”

In July, the NWTF’s flying turkey logo appeared on the DEI, Bass Pro Shops sponsored No. 1 racecar during the NASCAR Pepsi 400 at the Daytona International Speedway. The sponsorship was a donation from Bass Pro Shops.

Bass Pro Shops and its founder, John L. Morris, have made significant contributions to conservation over the last three decades. The NWTF and its conservation and hunting heritage programs have benefited tremendously. The entire conservation community is deeply indebted.
