Ranger Ready has been a go-to mosquitoes and tick repellent for well over a year now. The non-aerosol bottles of Picaridin work extremely well. The scent zero version is outstanding and does not smell like the normal cologne of most major deet-based formulas. It is also nowhere near as harmful as deet to you and your pets. We also like that this is made in America, so I know it’s being held to a higher standard than some brands on the market. This year Ranger Ready came out with the P2 Pak which includes an 8 oz. bottle of Scent Zero Picaridin and an 8 oz. bottle of Scent Zero Permethrin.
Ranger Ready’s Scent Zero Permethrin based repellent lasts up to 5 washes or 40 days, whichever comes first. I have been using Permethrin in my truck on a regular basis since we got the Miko, our Drahthaar pup. Miko will pick up ticks and bugs in the field and then shed them in the truck. I got in my truck one day after going on a trip with Miko, and I found ticks everywhere. I sprayed Picaridin in the truck, opened up all the doors and then hit the car wash. Once we got the truck vacuumed I hit the whole truck and the dog bed with Permethrin. What I like about the Permethrin is that it’s safe for the dog and it doesn’t smell.
I like the P2 Pak because I know that my clothes and my truck will be covered with Scent Zero Permethrin Repellent, and any skin I have exposed can be quickly sprayed down with just a little Picaridin. With this two part system I know I will not be bothered by ticks, mosquitoes and other bugs. I am a magnet to these kinds of things, so I am going to be a fan of the Ranger Ready P2 Pak for quite some time.
