Rigby expands team as demand continues to grow

London gunmaker John Rigby & Co. has appointed two new gunmakers to its in-house team in response to a sustained increase in orders.

Metalwork specialist Bertrand Batoux, from the Champagne-Ardenne region of France, joined Rigby in the latter half of 2019 and previously worked for Belgian gunmaker Paul Plesters. A keen hunter and devotee of driven game, he works mostly on London Bests and Rising Bite double rifles. Loick Desmanet has been part of the Rigby team since January 2020 and previously worked as a trainee at Belgian gunmaker Armurerie Delattre. He also currently specialises in metalwork, and is a keen clay shot and regular visitor to the shooting range in his native Belgium. Both new team members are graduates of the famous Liège School of Gunmaking.

Rigby’s Managing Director, Marc Newton, commented: “The past 12 months have been busy and the orders are still coming in, so it has become necessary to increase in capacity while maintaining quality. We’re therefore delighted to welcome Bertrand and Loick to Rigby and I’m sure they’ll be excellent additions to the team.”
