Seminars for the Convention promise to be some of the best to date. Marc Watts, a former CNN reporter and avid hunter, is confirmed to speak. His seminar, entitled “Making the Perfect Shot,” will cover the finer points of shooting and the three components that define the perfect shot: mental preparation, physical preparation and execution. On the auction block, John Rigby & Co. Inc. donated an African Express bolt rifle chambered in .416 Rigby. This rifle, valued at $43,500, features blued barrel and an exhibition grade English walnut stock with beaded check piece and 24-lpi checkering. The Rigby-style scroll with gold details is engraved on the action and floor plate. The gun will be crafted to have extra length and height so the stock can be custom fitted to the buyer’s measurements.
Sheep hunters will be butting heads and bidding up a 15-day stone sheep hunt donated by Bradford & Co. Guide Services. This rifle-only hunt, valued at $32,000, is 1×1 guided that includes trophy fees. Open dates for this hunt are between August and September of 2008 or 2009. Mountain goat, caribou or moose may be added per the outfitter price list.
Anglers, get your rods ready for the fishing trip of a lifetime. New exhibitor Nomads of the Seas has donated an eight-day trout and salmon fishing trip for two anglers.
