Scott Archery Release Review by Logan Hinners

One of the items I love having in my gear bag in company my Mathews Z7 is my new Scott Archery release. I have used a release for many years now and can still remember to the day when I bought me my very first one. It was a Tru-Fire release that I used for years until recently sharing it with a youth who had just took an interest in shooting archery. He needed one and my old Tru-Fire still worked well even after all the shooting I had done with it.

Recently, I was able to use a Scott Archery release. I was surprised with my findings, it was top notch. I guess I should have expected nothing less from Scott Archery.

I got turned on to the Little Bitty Goose by a buddy of mine who was shooting in leagues with me over the summer. It is similar to the Silverhorn in that it has a buckled wrist strap and soft fabric. The buckle on the “LBG” functions the same way as the Silverhorn. Don’t get me wrong; it is better than Velcro, but sometimes tough for fat fingers on this archer. The one I ended up purchasing was in full camo and that I truly liked (nothing to do with the function though). This particular release also has the nylon strap running from the wrist to the hook. Huge selling point for me because I can tuck it into my wrist strap when I am climbing a stand or just to get it out of the way on a hike. It isn’t a solid metal rod from wrist to finger like so many of the release aids today that get so bulky and always seem to be catching on or getting in the way of something. The “LBG” Is also a very lightweight release and has a closed hook at the end instead of the open style hook. At first, I had a hard time getting used to it. I had become accustomed to using an open hook, but it didn’t take long for me to remedy that. Using the LBG is simple and I could close the hook around my d-loop and know it was always connected to my string. I have shot over a 100 arrows with it now and have no other words to explain its functionality other than it is awesome!

I have to say that I was very impressed with Scott Archery and their release. They have a unique design and is a first choice of mine when selecting a release aid. I highly recommend the Scott Archery releases.
