Send your Teacher to School
With your help, SCI and Bass Pro Shops are educating teachers so they can share the truth about hunting, fishing, shooting and conservation with students.
Forty-nine teachers from districts located near Bass Pro Shops around the country will have the opportunity to attend SCI Foundation’s American Wilderness Leadership School (AWLS) in Jackson, WY for an eight-day course on the outdoors and hunting’s role in conservation.
While at AWLS, these educators will have the opportunity to
- meet with state and federal wildlife experts
- attend academic lectures and discussions
- be exposed to firearms safety and more.
Teachers return from AWLS with a thorough understanding of science-based conservation and land management techniques, and the supplies necessary to pass on this knowledge to their students. Last year, 246 teachers attended the AWLS teacher programs, went back to their schools and encouraged outdoor participation in their students.
To help support AWLS, donate online or go to your local Bass Pro Shop store. At the store, go to the register, make your donation, and nominate a teacher of your choice to attend this program.
