Overall, when selecting a holster for your favorite handgun there should be AT LEAST three categories to look for before making that next purchase. Over the past couple of years I have had the chance to use the Blackhawk! SERPA holster, in the 1911 configuration. The following review has been from using the SERPA holster in a paddle holster design and in a drop leg platform model under professional use environments.

DURABILITY

When selecting your next purchase, whatever that may be, you are expecting performance and durability from it, right? This is no different when selecting a holster for your favorite handgun. I have found the SERPA holster to be VERY durable, and have had absolutely NO issues at all. The holster itself is made from a high strength polymer material, which is very tough in design. The SERPA holster also has several platforms that it may be mounted to such as a drop leg platform, a paddle style mount, and a belt slide attachment. This allows the user to quickly change the application of the holster from professional use, to personal defense use in a matter of minutes. Adjustments are made by a few screws on the back side of the holster that easily interchange for different applications. Overall, the durability and modular design are GREAT!!!

SECURITY AND FIT

Holsters for handguns are designed for safely transporting your handgun with you, on your person. If the fit of the holster is not correct, and the holster is not comfortable for you to wear, obviously you won’t use it. The Blackhawk! SERPA holster is not only secure, but fits the operator well. The SERPA holster also has great fit when it comes to holstering the weapon. The SERPA holster is special in design, with a security release button strategically placed on the outside of the holster. When drawing the weapon, the operator depresses the manual button with the trigger finger as the draw is taking place. The button acts as a retention device to securely keep the weapon in place during transportation, or added security from a offender in a struggle. This is very slick in design, and produces very quick draw times for the operator. Also while on the subject of security, when holstering the weapon, the operator can hear an audible click when the weapon is properly holstered. Security and fit for this holster are GREAT!!!

COST

When it comes down to making a purchase, you as the consumer should want the most bang for your buck. The SERPA holster is not only a great design that functions and holds up well, but it is reasonably priced. Holsters of all types range in price just like anything else in the world. You can purchase holsters from $10-$200 plus. It just depends on what your specific uses and demands are. The SERPA holster has many different variations, and therefore prices fluctuate a little for different uses. Overall, the SERPA holsters would fall into the $50 price range, some models cheaper, some a little more expensive. When it come right down to it, SERPA provides a lot of bang for the buck.

IN CONCLUSION

Overall, the SERPA holster will fit the needs of many people across the world. SERPA holsters are already being used worldwide by citizens for CCW, and by professionals in the military and police. SERPA holsters are very durable, user friendly, safe with a good fit, and are reasonably priced. What more would you expect from Blackhawk? Blackhawk! will continue to be industry leaders with user friendly products, that are built to last.  On top of that, they are made right here in the USA! I plan to continue using them but, check them out for yourself at   www.blackhawk.com.
