CCRKBA HONORS BRIAN STRAWSER AS GRASSROOTS ACTIVIST OF YEAR
BELLEVUE, WA – Recognizing his above and beyond efforts as a gun rights advocate, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms has honored Bryan Strawser, chairman of the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus (MGOC) as the Grassroots Activist of the Year for 2023.
The award was presented at the recent Gun Rights Policy Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.
“Brian is an individual who has gone far beyond what most activists do,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, “and we really appreciate his work.”
Strawser has led the fight against restrictive gun control and prohibition in the North Star State, which included the successful federal court battle to secure a summary judgment against the state’s prohibition on the issuance of carry permits to young adults in the 18-20-year age group.
“This is really a recognition of our thousands of members, our board and my partner Rob Doar (senior vice president for government relations),” Strawser stated. “We stopped a lot of bad legislation this year.”
Strawser subsequently provided a report on “strategic victories” and “tactical losses” in Minnesota this year under a Democrat trifecta in the state capital, detailing the challenges his organization—a CCRKBA state affiliate—faces in the year ahead.
Strawser’s background includes his election as a member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs, and the International Institute for Strategic Studies. He was also named as a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts in 2019. He is an NRA-certified firearms instructor, and he also is a Minnesota permit-to-carry instructor. He holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
With more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (www.ccrkba.org) is one of the nation’s premier gun rights organizations. As a non-profit organization, the Citizens Committee is dedicated to preserving firearms freedoms through active lobbying of elected officials and facilitating grass-roots organization of gun rights activists in local communities throughout the United States.
