HorseHead Calls

HorseHead Calls

M1460017.JPGLike many hunters, I like to carry way to many turkey calls into the woods. This year I added yet another call to my vest, one of which I’m very excited about.

HorseHead Calls, located in Cloverdale Indiana came out with a spectacular line of calls this year. I will be using their glass call with a very attractive camouflage design under the glass, appealing to any hunter or huntress. The glass sits in a zebra wood pot, which sounds even better than it looks. This past weekend I was filming a youth hunt in Cynthiana KY and called in a decent bird, however “turkey fever” got the best of my hunter. Even though we didn’t get the bird, I was very happy calling in my first bird with the Horse-head glass call. Using a cedar striker, I can get a very soft sound out of the call, which is what that particular bird was wanting. By using the Purple Heart striker included with the set, I can get a little louder and really reach out when I need to.

If you’re looking for a sturdy, attractive, great-sounding and American made call, I urge you to contact Randy at HorseHead Calls. You can reach him via email at nees3@ccrtc.com. HorseHead also offers great sounding slate calls using various types of woods.
