The NRA Foundation Supports America’s Shooting Sports Athletes at the Paris Olympic Games
The NRA Foundation’s support will help USA Shooting athletes represent the United States at the highest levels of competition in international shooting events.
FAIRFAX, VA – The NRA Foundation, America’s leading charitable organization in support of the shooting sports, is proud to be the sole Platinum Level Sponsor of USA Shooting – the national governing body for Olympic shooting sports in the United States. In the lead-up to the 2024 Olympic Games, The NRA Foundation provided critical resources to prepare Olympic and Paralympic athletes to compete in Paris, France. As USA Shooting’s highest-level sponsor, The NRA Foundation’s investment has significantly enhanced training opportunities, provided state-of-the-art equipment, and supported developmental initiatives that are crucial for the success of American shooting athletes on both national and international stages.
In 2022, the Foundation awarded $252,000 to USA Shooting specifically for shotgun ammunition. This support was aimed at aiding the athletes on the National Team, National Development Team, and the National Junior Team in their training efforts. Continuing this support, The NRA Foundation provided an additional $250,000 in 2023 to bolster the Olympic and Paralympic Programs’ preparations for the upcoming Olympics. This funding was earmarked for essential expenses including team travel, athlete training and support, ammunition and targets, event fees, and uniforms. In early 2024, the Foundation granted another $250,000 to further assist Team USA in their final preparations for the Paris Games.
USA Shooting CEO, Kelly Reisdorf, expressed gratitude for The NRA Foundation’s support, highlighting its crucial contribution as the team prepared for Paris. “In preparation for the Paris Olympics, The NRA Foundation’s support has been instrumental in facilitating overseas competition experiences for our athletes,” said Reisdorf. “These opportunities are invaluable, as they provide our team with essential exposure to international competition settings and diverse tactical challenges.”
The partnership between The NRA Foundation and USA Shooting underscores a shared commitment to advancing competitive shooting sports in the U.S. and promoting excellence among athletes.
“The NRA Foundation is proud to partner with USA Shooting to show our support for the Olympic and Paralympic athletes competing in the Paris 2024 Games,” said Tyler Schropp, Executive Director of The NRA Foundation. “Shooting sports in the Olympics embody a celebration of precision, skill, and global unity. By including disciplines that demand unparalleled focus and athleticism, we showcase the diversity of human talent and the shared pursuit of excellence, fostering a connection between tradition and the ever-evolving spirit of the Olympic Games. We will be cheering on our athletes at the games and wish them great luck!”
