Bowtech Archery
Hunters heard the hype surrounding BowTech’s Invasion compound bow. In this case, hype is reality. The Invasion is well balanced with a superb-fitting, ergonomic grip. The sleek design is also a plus. Sporting dual cams, the Invasion has a small hump about ¾ through the draw cycle, but is consistent overall. Great feel usually isn’t enough to demand a new purchase. Further investigation of the Invasion’s new,
built-in technologies revealed terrific bang for the buck.
Deflexed Riser and FLX guard:
The invasion features a deflexed riser which places the shooters hand in front of the limbs pivot point. This design minimizes hand torque and riser twist, contributing to improved accuracy. The FLX guard cable containment system also contributes to minimized riser torque by flexing inward during draw, which absorbs cable guard torque. This results in a substantial reduction in lateral knock travel from full draw to brace height as the arrow is released. Overall, this system proved to be effective when I purposely hand torqued the bow in every way possible yet still hit within inches of where I was aiming.

OverDrive Binary Cam System:
BowTech introduced the OverDrive Binary synchronized dual cam system in 2010. It was immediately recognized as the ultimate cam system for achieving the highest levels of consistency and tuning. With this cam system, we have the three S’s: Symmetry, Synchronization, and Stability.
• Symmetry- Both cams are perfectly symmetrical, they are mirror images of each other in how they look and perform. Since the exact same thing is happening with both cams, it allows for much straighter knock travel when compared to single or hybrid cam systems. In single or hybrid cam systems, power is not evenly distributed and therefore the knock will not be pushed along a straight line out of the bow.
• Synchronization- Tuning is a breeze and once set, it stays put. The cams are essentially slaved to each other so they turn in perfect harmony.
• Stability- The OverDrive Binary cams feature tunable split buss attachments to both cams. This provides the most rigid assembly possible for each cam, which prevents the limb tips from twisting and the cam from tilting during draw.
Carbon Rod String Stop:
The built in carbon string stop is a great addition. In the past, wrap around string stops, which attach near the stabilizer have been popular. However, these systems add unnecessary weight and more often than not get in the way while shooting. The Invasion’s string stop is desirable because it’s positioned directly in line with the stabilizer, which effectively transfers vibration from the string to the stabilizer. Plus, it is small, lightweight and out of the way.
All of these innovative technologies come together to form a truly phenomenal set up. The Invasion is fast, quiet and smooth. It’s surprisingly forgiving due to the torque eliminating aspects, and is easy to tune when and if needed. The only problem with the bow is the paint on the limbs. For example, stored in a fully padded Lakewood products bow case, and despite the magnificent protection provided the paint is slowly but surely wearing from the edges of the limbs. Bowtech is aware of the issue and has solved the problem internally.
Overall, BowTech advertises persistently and hypes up every bow they put on the market, but they do so with the confidence and knowledge that their product speaks louder than anything. If you are on the market for a new bow, visit your local shop and test out the BowTech Invasion. Good luck in the woods this year and remember, pick a hair and put it there!
