Benchmade Saddle Mountain Hunter Knife Review

Benchmade Deer

I wanted a new knife this year to add to my pack. I usually carry two fixed blade knives with me on any given trip and last year I lost a good one so it was time for a replacement. The Benchmade Saddle Mountain Hunter fit the bill perfectly. I had received a Benchmade pocket folder as a gift earlier in the year and I was impressed with how this blade retained its sharpness through everyday use.

The Benchmade Saddle Mountain Hunter is a solid, attractive knife made with S30V Steel. This full tang knife has a grey G-10 handled knife with a solid grip that can hold up to just about any abuse hunters might throw its way. The blade offers a modified clip-point blade with a flat-ground, very sharp edge. Benchmade also offers the Hunt Hidden Canyon Hunter with the same G-10 grip and a skinning blade if you are looking for a matched set. I prefer the Saddle Mountain personally and I have a good skinning knife at home. I have used this knife to gut and skin several deer this year without getting the chance to sharpen the blade and it was as sharp on the last deer as it was on the first.

I bought this knife through knifeart.com and they were fantastic to deal with. I searched through all of the knives and some great brands, chose the knife I wanted, and it was in my hands in only days. The packaging was solid and it arrived quickly. I am impressed with the selection and overall buying experience with knifeart.com. I plan to them again here soon as I have been eyeing a damascus knife to add to my personal collection.

Check out the Benchmade Saddle Mountain Hunter. It’s a sharp tool and worthy of being in your pack. While you are at it, check out the great selection of knives and tools from the team at knifeart.com.
