bite away® – Insect Sting and Bite Relief Tool Review

At most campfires or picnics there is always that one person whom the mosquitos are swarming around and biting incessantly.  Nine times out of 10 that person is me.  It’s been that way for as long as I can remember.  Mosquito repellent is virtually required for me when I go outside.  Luckily there are some great ones on the market today.  However, there are still times that I get bitten by mosquitos and chiggers.  When the team from takethebiteaway.com reached out to me about testing their tool, I jumped at the chance.

Bite away is a chemical-free treatment that I am happy to say works incredibly well.  My wife and I have been using this amazing tool for the last two weeks on chigger bites as well as mosquito bites.  How the unit works is you place the tip of the tool on the bite, press the button, and the tip heats up to 127 degrees.  You have a choice of using a 3 or 5 second setting.  We have only used the 5 second setting.  While 127 degrees is not enough to cause a burn mark, it is HOT and you absolutely feel it when it is working.  Depending on the location of the bite, it ranges from uncomfortable to painful, but it’s only for a couple of seconds.  The great news is that within a minute you feel no more itch or irritation from the bite.

When we got this, I thought it was a gimmick.  Now that I am using it and it is working, I have kept it close to me just in case. Of course, I have thrown it into my pocket on trips out the field.  It’s a little bit larger than an Sharpie pen, and it takes two AA batteries which last for about 300 charges.  The 3 second charge is for kids and the 5 seconds is for adults.  Amazon has these for under $40.00.  The Bite away is FDA-cleared and tested.

While no one wants to get bitten by a mosquito, if you do there is now an option to stop the itching and irritation right away.  It’s a whole lot less messy than anti-itch creams, and it works so much faster.  It’s an intense feeling waiting for that green light to turn on, and it goes by really quick but stops the itch and the itch just does not come back.  It worked on a chigger bite on my ankle and the bite was gone after two 5-second treatments over a 4 hour period.  I am going to have to order another one of these for the house so I can keep mine with me in my go bag or in the truck because everyone in the house has figured out this unit works.
