Getting a pair of boots good enough for use by the US Navy Seals kind of excited me, it has been a long time since I have worn a pair of boots when I was not in the woods. The boots arrived via UPS and I ordered them with my exact size. They are roomy enough for a thin pair of socks as well a beefed up pair of boot socks so when you order them, choose your exact size and do not go up in size. I got the boots on a Friday and put them on and left them on for a week while I was in Montana teaching film school with the Hunting the Rez crew and I loved these boots. Who knew teaching would leave you standing all day in front of the white board. We did a little hunting, a ton of scouting, filmed the intro for their new television show and some hiking and the boots held up extremely well.
These boots are lightweight and feel like running shoes while giving the ankle support you are looking for in a quality boot. I also liked that these boots are breathable while still being water resistant. Montana as well as Nebraska weather changes at the drop of a hat so having a sturdy pair of boots is a good idea. Over the last week in the heat of summer, I usually shed boots for lightweight tennis shoes but these boots have been so comfortable, they have been my go to footwear of choice over the last several weeks.
These boots were designed for Navy Seals so they could put them on before missions, slip on swim fins over the boots and drop into the ocean, swim with these boots on, slip off the fins and go right into a tactical situation. While I am not going to do anything even close or as exciting as that, I do like wearing a boot that I can run from a meeting to the field in while still looking exceptional doing it.
