Cotton Carrier Skout-Sling Style Binocular Harness Review

The big game hunting season is resting quietly in these awkward in-between months making it a great time to prep for your future hunts. Fortunately, there are many off-season activities to equip you for the next Pope and Young. In addition to getting in hunting shape, my favorite addiction is shooting my bow.

Binoculars are an important tool when shooting 3D archery both inside and outside.  They allow the archer a perfect visual of the scoring rings that can be up to 50-60 yards away. Consequently, having a comfortable and convenient harness system is imperative. We have been testing the Cotton Carrier Skout- a sling style binocular harness.

The single arm sling design is easy to put on regardless of how many layers you are wearing. It fits comfortably on the chest and it is not bulky. As a result, the binoculars are easy to access while preparing for the shot.

The Skout is equipped with DWR (durable water repellent) coating and a patented Twist and Lock mount system providing a secure hold of the binoculars.

The binocular bracket is made of rugged Nylon 6 and adheres to the barrel of the binocular with a sturdy velcro strap. Each Skout comes with a quick release tether to prevent any accidental drops

I wear mine comfortably under my pack and my range finder fits snugly between the sling and my body.  The Skout is perfect for clear weather outdoor activities such as 3D archery, hiking, scouting and hunting. The Cotton Carrier Skout retails for $79 and can be purchased by visiting their website.
