Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA) Holds 9th HAVA/NSSF Golf Tournament in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV—HAVA announces another successful and fun HAVA/NSSF Golf Tournament at the world-class Bear’s Best Golf Club in Las Vegas for the 9th year. The Golf Classic drew 34 teams which is 136 outdoor industry participants to the Jack Nicklaus-designed club for a fun day of golf and fellowship on January 15, 2023, prior to the industry’s annual Shot Show. 26 of 34 teams finished under par and everyone had a great time. The annually staged event has become a relaxing and rewarding addition to SHOT Show, offering great camaraderie, food, and a wide variety of raffle prizes donated by industry companies to support HAVA’s mission to assist disabled veterans.

“Despite the tough playing conditions, industry participants came out for fun and again made an amazing showing of support for our injured veteran programs,” said Tom Taylor, HAVA Chairman. “The support of our many sponsors each year, which assists HAVA in its mission to help our veterans who have made such an enormous sacrifice for our country, is nothing short of incredible. Many thanks to all who supported the event in so many ways!”

The tournament funds a number of HAVA’s annual events, including their much-loved family day in San Antonio every year, along with various range days, hunts and other events.

Chris Dolnack, Senior Vice President of the NSSF, commented, “NSSF has partnered with HAVA on the creation and sponsorship of the Golf Classic from its inception, and it has become the kickoff event to SHOT Show week each year. Our outdoor industry also loves golf, and this event adds a tangible veteran-support element to the most important week on the shooting sports industry calendar.”
