Now it’s no question that we are fans of The Original Muck Boot Company. We have been wearing these boots for going on 20 years, and they stand the test of time. Generally our choice of wearing Muck Boots is kept to the field, hunting, camping or around the farm. Until now. The Muck Boot Company has released the Apex Mid Zip. The Apex Mid Zip is the first boot that we can wear in the field and also take to town.
We are not suggesting you take these to the local honkytonk on a Friday night with the significant other, but they are good enough to run around town. You can wear these on a trip to the local nursery, pet food store, grocery store and such or even into the office. These are also boots that will work for an afternoon archery hunt or a run-and-gun turkey hunt. You could even use them on an early morning elk hunt.
We like the ease of being able to step into these boots. For any of the folks who are older and might have trouble removing boots from tired feet and legs, the Velco and zip on these make it easy for you to literally just step out of them. These are made for men and women with two different versions and we are holding out hope that a children’s line is in the works.
The colors offered on these is basic: black, brown, green or camo. We have already picked up a pair for our 23 year old son who likes to bike in the winter. These are 100% waterproof and seem to breath a little better than full size boots. They hold an EVA midsole for comfort and are good enough for trail work and rocky surfaces. The Mid Apex Zip is also good for those who need a little more support for the ankles as these fit a little more secure than taller boots. The upper lock on the boot keeps bugs, stickers and rocks out.
The run-away favorite part of these boots is the zip and therefore the ease of taking them on and off. Coupled with all day comfort, these are a welcome addition to the mud room around our house. Early morning dog walks in the wet grass has never been better because I don’t have to worry about wet shoes in the house. I can slip these off and get the pup all set.
