The Old Growth Puffy Blanket by Rumpl

Rumpl is a company dedicated to getting individuals outside and they make some of the most comfortable blankets for home or the outdoors.  Rumpl is there for you when you are ready to relax back at camp, hanging out in the tent or around the fire.  I saw the Old Growth Puffy Blanket and I knew that I had to own one.  It arrived in just a few days.  I was in the office so I just draped it over my office chair and sat back down.  It was everything I had hoped and more.

Rumpl was created in 2013.  The founders were on a surf and ski trip through California.  They awoke to subzero temps and a car that would not start.  Their choices?  They could get out of the car and take a really long walk into town or they could bundle up into sleeping bags and drink whiskey while waiting for a ride.  A few hours into a pretty wild conversation and realizing how much better their sleeping bags did at keeping them warm, they made a pact to create a sleeping bag blanket.  Rumpl was conceived.  Rumpl created a trend with quality material and cool styling which they called Active Homewear in which home products are created using performance materials commonly found in outdoor gear and activewear.

RumplThe Old Growth Puffy Blanket features the photography by Canadian photographer Jeremy Koreski.  The photograph is looking down onto an old growth forest in British Columbia.  Jeremy shot this photo hanging out the side of a helicopter on a rainy day using a wide-angle zoom. Jeremy focuses on surfing and fly fishing photography.  His surf photography has taken him all around the world but home is still British Columbia. Working with Rumpl was an opportunity to create a partnership and a chance to give back to the outdoors with the 1% for the Planet initiative. The Old Growth Puffy Blanket really spoke to me because it looked like the forests in Pacific Northwest that my father and I enjoyed hunting for bear, blacktail deer and Roosevelt elk.

This blanket is made with 20D ripstop nylon on the back and printed polyester front with DWR treatments on both sides.  The insulation is 3D Hollow Fiber Synthetic Insulation.  The Old Growth Puffy Blanket weighs 2.1 lbs. and includes a stuff sack.  What I really like about this blanket is that you can toss it in the washing machine.  I will use this blanket as an added layer of warmth in my hunting blind or while camping.  I know it will get dirty and having the ability to wash this quickly and easily is important.

Every person in my family who has seen this blanket has gravitated to it.  They touch it, feel it, wrap themselves up in it and then try and sneak off with it.  Two of our kids have asked for a Rumpl blanket for their upcoming birthdays.  Marjorie took it out on a picnic with her daughter and if I had not asked for it back, it might have just stayed in her truck permanently.  I am pretty sure that I will have to purchase one for each person in the family.  Luckily they have many varieties, colors and I will always know that the Old Growth Puffy Blanket is all mine.

Check out gorumpl.com Rumpl with Marjorie and get your hands on one of these blankets.  The first time you wrap this blanket around you it’s going to become a part of your gear that gets used in the home just as much as it does in the field.
