Olympia RG850 Flashlight Review

Olympia RG850 Flashlight

I received the Olympia RG850 Flashlight just before Father’s Day and I was pretty darn excited about it. It lived on my belt for about 3 weeks while we were working on our new house. I used it quite often to check out dark corners and the attic while I was shooting pictures and getting everything ready.

What really set this flashlight apart for me are the 850 lumens on this light and the high, middle, and low settings. The strobe and the SOS options are handy to have in the right situations. The RG850 also comes equipped with a rechargeable battery that allows users to recharge the battery while in the flashlight via a micro-USB cable. I can easily charge the light in the car when running around town and know that it will be ready when I need it.

I was especially looking forward to carrying something this bright with me in the field, something I knew I could charge and have ready to and from my hunting locations just by plugging it into the USB port in my truck.

However, we had a home inspection and several tradesmen come in and do some inspections and work on parts in our new (old) house and I made the mistake of setting down the light on the counter. I remember using the light in the basement and then setting it on the kitchen counter at one point during the day. I haven’t seen it since. I am sure one of the crew grabbed it, mistaking it for their own because we were all using flashlights as the power was out that day. While frustrated that it hasn’t been returned, the good news is that the price point of the Olympia RG850 is right at $89.99. I will be ordering a new one before my hunts kick off this fall. This time I am going to mark the flashlight with my name and number, mark the outside case with my initials, and slide a business card into the case.
