Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Launch New Merchandise Lines Powered by SCHEELS
Purchase with purpose: Each transaction generates a donation to upland habitat conservation
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever today launched a new online shopping experience and lineup of upland gear – powered by SCHEELS – to outfit more than two million pheasant and quail hunters throughout the United States. The Pheasants Forever Store and Quail Forever Store offer the latest in lifestyle clothing, hats/caps, dog supplies, and hunting gear, with each transaction providing a donation to the wildlife habitat conservation efforts of the nation’s leading upland charities.
“The launch of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever online stores with the backing of SCHEELS marks a new era in conservation funding for upland birds and public access,” stated Chris Kalis, director of corporate partnerships for Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever. “’Purchase with a purpose’ is not just a slogan, but rather a commitment from SCHEELS to give-back to public lands and habitat, and a promise from Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever to deliver on meaningful projects across the pheasant and quail ranges.”
Highlights of the new store offerings consist of SCHEELS Outfitters products, innovative gear from national sponsor Browning, and a wide variety of upland products that will be featured at Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever banquets nationwide including popular brands like Browning, YETI, Thorogood, RuffLand Kennels, SportDOG Brand, Leupold, ALPS OutdoorZ and much more:

In addition to online shopping, upland hunters and organizational members can find new product offerings in 29 SCHEELS store locations across 13 states including Colorado, North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, Montana, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Nevada, Illinois, Utah, Kansas, and Texas. The expansion of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever merchandise comes on the heels of historical support from SCHEELS for the organization’s signature Build a Wildlife Area program that has permanently protected more than 13,000 acres of public lands in 10 states through a unique, partner-driven matching gift program.
“We are proud to partner with Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, and excited to launch our exclusive merchandise partnership online and across our retail locations,” said SCHEELS CEO Steve M. Scheel. “We have been a strong supporter of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever for many years and look forward to using this partnership to conserve even more upland habitat conservation areas. With each purchase, this program helps implement grassland conservation efforts which are vital to upland populations across North America.”
About SCHEELS
Three acres of potatoes were the seed for the first SCHEELS store in 1902. Frederick A.
Scheel, a German immigrant, used the $300 he earned from that first harvest as the down
payment on the first SCHEELS, a small hardware and general merchandise store in Sabin, Minn.
Over the years, SCHEELS opened in surrounding communities including Fargo, N.D. in 1930 and as growth continued, Fargo became the corporate office for the company. From the beginning, SCHEELS focus was the hardware business along with a small inventory of sporting goods. Customer interest grew for sporting goods and more sports lines were added over the years including athletic shoes and clothing in 1972.
Today, SCHEELS is a 29-store operation across 13 states including Colorado, North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, Montana, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Nevada, Illinois, Utah, Kansas, and Texas. One additional store is scheduled to open this October in Missoula, Montana.
Currently, Steve D. Scheel, the great-grandson of SCHEELS founder, is the company’s Chairman of the Board, and great-great-grandson Steve M. Scheel is the CEO. Todd Anderson serves as President and oversees SCHEELS daily operations of more than 8,000 associates.
