Phone Skope Digiscoping

Digiscoping is the practice of taking digital photos through a spotting scope or other optic device.  The uses for this type of photography are varied.  Many use digiscoping with a spotting scope to photographically capture wildlife from a distance.  Used with a telescope or a microscope, however, digiscoping provides opportunities to photograph everything from planets to microbes.  For the past 10 years, I have been playing with digiscoping on and off.  The first adaptors that I tried only fit digital cameras or required massive effort to set up.  As time has passed, the equipment used for digiscoping has become more user friendly and more adaptable. What makes this system great for me is the absolute ease of use, whether I am using this unit for scouting or filming.  It is simple to drop my phone into the unit and attach it to the scope once I have found what I am looking for in the scope.  Phone Skope’s system makes it easy to quickly capture photos and video as well as pull the unit off and begin the search again for the next animal.  This kind of ease allows me to cover ground quickly and efficiently from high points and catch animals moving through the areas that I am hunting.  This is great for my first several days of archery season which are usually spent glassing and scouting from high points versus stalking and approaching animals.
