There is very little a hunter can do when trying to call in that mature tom that is with a number of hens. He will usually just stand around and strut in his usual strut zone, not wanting to get to far away from hens. When a hen gets too far away and she is not bred yet, he will usually quick chase her down and try to round her back up with the rest of the hens. Even the best callers have trouble getting these toms away from their harem. Hen decoys are usually useless. From experience, there is only one thing that increases your odds significantly, the Primos B-Mobile tom decoy.
The B-Mobile looks like a tom strutting, like a tom intruding on the boss gobbler’s territory. The realistic look of the body mimics a real tom almost perfect and can be seen from a long ways away. It comes with a cloth fan that looks very similar to a real tom’s fan. It also comes with a fan assembly unit that allows you to take a turkey fan that you may have and use that with the decoy to give it an extra realistic look to really bring in those weary late season birds. The stake that B-Mobile comes with is an easy and quick set up for those situations when you don’t have much time to set up. All of this comes with a very convenient carrying bag for easy and safe transport.
This decoy can be used in many ways. You can set B-mobile up by itself, with hen decoys, or you can use it as a stalking decoy. The first two methods explain themselves. However, stalking turkeys in the wide open is not a common method used, but it can be the most effective of all. THIS METHOD SHOULD BE USED WITH EXTREME CAUTION ON PRIVATE LAND ONLY TO AVOID OTHER HUNTERS THAT MAY BE ON THE PROPERTY THINKING YOU ARE A REAL TURKEY. You will look very realistic, because it will look like your decoy is actually alive. Just crawl behind the decoy, holding it in front of you as you walk towards the target. This can get these henned up toms to come running!
There is also a new option, called the Killer B. This is an upgraded version of the original B-Mobile decoy. This decoy has a pull string that allows the fan to go up and down, like a tom going in and out of strut. This decoy features glass eyes from the taxidermist to give it a very realistic look. It also has more red in the head compared to the original B-mobile.
I own and use both of these decoys and can honestly say they are the best made and most realistic tom decoys on the market. We have had many successful hunts with these decoys and plan on using them for many seasons to come. I would highly recommend the B-Mobile decoys to anyone, whether a beginner or seasoned veteran in the turkey woods.
