Your chance to register at the best possible rate for the Outdoor Writers Association of America’s annual conference is now available! Join us in beautiful, story-filled Madison, Wisconsin (Aug. 22-24) and connect with 300 other outdoor professionals (some 200 of which will be vetted media).
This conference is tailored to both new and seasoned outdoor storytellers: writers, photographers, bloggers, videographers, podcasters or other media. The agenda will be packed with craft-improvement workshops, thought-provoking keynotes and other professional development opportunities (including a full editor’s panel).
Brands, organizations and tourism boards will have ample opportunities to connect and network with attending media. As always, we’ll have a pre-scheduled, match-making marketplace, on Day One, for three hours of one-on-one networking!
Note: You do not need to be a member to register (although members get a discounted rate). Also, the speaker application deadline (for breakout speakers and workshop presenters) is Feb. 28th. Links to both application forms can be found on the event website.

We offer more than a dozen three-hour workshops to introduce you to new skills and polish the ones you’ve been using for years. Expect space to practice, receive feedback, interact and spend time in the field!

Guided hikes and paddling trips. Wildlife viewing and birding. Horseback riding. These are just a few of the pre- and post-trip options, offered throughout THREE STATES (Texas, New Mexico and Chihuahua) that will be open for registration soon.

Many of the best connections at conferences happen in the halls, the elevator or over a beverage at the close of another excellent day. OWAA’s nightly hospitality suites are legendary for connecting/reuniting people, having fun and being an educational product showcase for a destination or brand!
Great outdoor products & trips
We’ll have our annual, virtual gear auction with donated trips from destinations, resorts and tour operators; gear from outdoor brands; services from industry providers and more. Brands use the auction to get their product in front of our members while our media members often get their next new story idea from their winnings!
