SURVIVOR FILTER Donates Water Filters to Bahamian Hurricane Relief Efforts

TORONTO– October 8, 2019 – SURVIVOR FILTER is proud to work with Kalashnikov USA, a firearms company in Pompano Beach, Florida, who will be shipping disaster relief supplies to the Bahamas, where Hurricane Dorian left thousands without the basics of food, shelter, and clean water.

“SURVIVOR FILTER was founded on the premise that everyone should have access to clean drinking water,” said SURVIVOR FILTER Owner Mark Zakaib. “Hurricane Dorian has left thousands of people in a desperate and potentially life-threatening situation. We’re honored to team up with Kalashnikov USA in their effort to help those in need.”

The 2019 Atlantic hurricane season opened in catastrophic fashion as Hurricane Dorian slowly churned across the Bahamas and up the eastern seaboard of the United States and Canada. On September 1, the storm stalled over the islands of Grand Bahama and Abaco, unleashing catastrophic winds and flooding. More than 70,000 have had their homes destroyed.

While the storm’s dramatic impact made headlines around the world, the real work of recovery begins after the clouds clear. Many of the newly homeless are evacuating. Those that stay behind face widespread power outages and damaged infrastructure. Survival, for many, now rests on their ability to find clean water. This is SUVIVOR FILTER’s mission. The company is pleased to offer their support to Kalashnikov USA’s coordinated relief efforts and encourages everyone to do what they can to help care for those in need.
