Seventeen-year-old Sadie Robertson – star of A&E’s Duck Dynasty and daughter of Willie and Korie Robertson – offers an example of how a well-adjusted young lady should live. She loves to encourage others by carrying out her faith in an open way and making positive choices in her life.
Sadie has partnered with DaySpring, a greeting card company whose vision is to connect “people with the heart of God through messages of hope and encouragement every day, everywhere.” This partnership allows Sadie to share her personal encouragement with others through a printed message.
I was happy to share Sadie’s messages this spring with my daughter when I bundled up several products as a Confirmation present. A collection of sticky notes with messages like “think happy, be happy” and “let your smile change the world.” A set of six magnets reminding my daughter to “hold on to the good” and “pray” will adorn her locker as she enters middle school at the end of the summer. A couple of journals with inspiration quotes throughout will encourage my daughter to write down her thoughts. And my personal favorite: scripture shareables. (Think: business cards with a positive message.) These little cards can be slipped into a greeting card for a friend, used as a bookmark, or simply handed to someone who seems in need of a pick-me-up.
Greeting cards in the line of birthdays, encouragement, and friendship round out Sadie’s collection with DaySpring.
Girls have always been faced with pressure to fit in. To look pretty. To be popular. To have a boyfriend. Whether the message comes in the form of a magazine article, a “reality” show on MTV, or now through the multitude of social media outlets, girls are bombarded with images and messages, most of which are unrealistic and unhealthy.
I applaud Sadie Robertson for stepping into the limelight, opening herself up to scrutiny, and spreading her message of love, faith, and personal acceptance. Take a moment to look through her collection of cards, journals, and other inspirational messages at DaySpring.com. Help Sadie spread positive messages to the young lady in your life today!
