Kansas City, Missouri -The Kansas City Area chapter of Safari Club International will host the second annual SCI Kansas City Hunter’s Expo on February 20th to 22th at the Kansas City Expo Center, Kansas City, Missouri.

The three-day event is in its second successful year in the Kansas City area and will feature exhibits by gun makers, outfitters and numerous name-brand outdoor industry companies. A full slate of Pro-Staff seminars on big game, turkey hunting and waterfowl hunting is scheduled throughout the event. The seminars will be presented by well-known hunting experts and TV personalities. A waterfowl calling contest is also planned and a 3-D archery range will be the focal point of the seminar series.

Seminar speakers include outdoor writer and Alaskan hunting guide Bob Robb; Haley Heath of the hit TV show Family Traditions; Keith Mark, host of McMillan River Adventure TV; John Vaca and Jeff Foiles, nationally recognized champion waterfowl callers, as well as a host of other professional hunters and outdoor experts.

Major General Joe Engle, a former resident of Chapman, Kan., and four- time NASA Space Shuttle Pilot and Commander, along with Colonel Craig Boddington, also a Kansas native, will be the keynote speakers on Friday and Saturday nights, respectively.

“We are excited again to bring to the Kansas City metropolitan area a true hunting expo,” said Mike Hagen, chapter vice-president and committee chairperson.

Hagen said the Expo’s highlight will be Friday and Saturday night auction banquets where hundreds of items such as big game hunts to Africa, Europe and North America will go on the auction block along with fine hunting gear and artwork by well-known artists. An alert bidder can take home some terrific bargains while supporting the Kansas City Chapter’s important efforts in hunter education, safety, feeding the hungry, conservation, youth programs and support of our military.

Participants in the SCI Kansas City Hunter’s Expo include Bushnell, CZ-USA, Hodgdon Powder and Bass Pros Shops along with scores of hunting outfitters and makers of top-quality outdoor products.

“Kansas City has some exciting and worthwhile shows,” said Paul Marsh, promotional manager at Bass Pro Shops in Olathe, KS. “Now we have a true hunting expo to call our own.”

The doors open at the Kansas City Expo Center on Friday February 20 at 2 pm, Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from to 10 am to 5 pm. Admission is $6.50 for adults and children under 14 are free. Tickets are available at the door and discount coupons are available at the Olathe, KS and Independence, MO Bass Pro Shops.
