Smith & Wesson and BHA Launch Partnership in Support of Public Lands
Founded in 1852, Smith & Wesson is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of quality firearms and firearm safety/security products
MISSOULA, Mont. – Smith & Wesson has stepped up as a new corporate partner of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, amplifying the company’s 169-year commitment to fish and wildlife conservation and citizens’ ability to access and experience the solace and adventure found on our public lands and waters.
Since its inception, Smith & Wesson has empowered Americans with the freedom, equality and security promised by the Declaration of Independence and guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. It was 1852 when Horace Smith and Daniel Baird Wesson realized their dream of creating a repeating firearm and made history. Over the years that followed, Smith & Wesson perfected the American sidearm to become one of the world’s most respected brand of firearms.
“Since 1852, Smith & Wesson has helped to empower Americans seeking to explore and enjoy our nation’s public lands with a sense of security and freedom,” said Kyle Tengwall, VP-marketing for Smith & Wesson.
“Each year, Smith & Wesson contributes millions in federal excise tax dollars to help fund fish and wildlife conservation efforts across the nation,” Tengwall continued. “It’s an important part of our heritage and one that we take deep pride in. We’re proud to support Backcountry Hunters & Anglers’ efforts to conserve our public lands, waters and wildlife and look forward to working together in the future.”
BHA President and CEO Land Tawny welcomed Smith & Wesson as BHA’s newest corporate partner.
“I’m honored to partner with Smith & Wesson, which has such a long legacy in the firearms industry,” Tawney said. “To put a finer point on that, when my father passed away over 25 years ago I inherited his S&W .357 revolver, a prized legacy in its own right. I’m excited to work with such a proven company with a personal connection on behalf of our shared wild public lands, waters and wildlife.”
