Micah Seavers to Discuss Getting the Next Generation Outdoors on HSCF’s Hunting Matters Podcast
(HOUSTON, TX – September 1, 2026) The Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) will welcome Micah Seavers, president of Walking Humbly Outdoor Adventures, as an upcoming guest on the Hunting Matters podcast. Seavers will discuss the importance of introducing young people to hunting, fishing, conservation, and the many traditions and skills associated with the outdoors.
Walking Humbly Outdoor Adventures is a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving young people outdoor experiences and opportunities they might otherwise never have. This year, the organization expects to work with more than 1,200 children through programs that include hunting, fishing, trapping, conservation, wildlife and plant identification, outdoor survival, firearm safety, game processing, habitat work, metal detecting, and other hands-on outdoor activities.
During the podcast, Seavers will share how his own experiences growing up with his father, grandfather, and other outdoor mentors inspired him to begin working with youth more than 16 years ago. He will also discuss the challenges facing today’s youth, including the declining opportunities for young people to learn outdoor traditions from parents and mentors.
A featured topic will be Walking Humbly’s Heroes Youth Hunt, which provides special hunting experiences for children of fallen and wounded military members, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other first responders. Youth participants travel from across the country to take part in the event, creating meaningful outdoor experiences and lasting memories for families who have made tremendous sacrifices.
The conversation will also explore the role that hunters, conservation organizations, landowners, businesses, volunteers, and donors can play in ensuring that the next generation has the opportunity to experience the outdoors firsthand.
