Alaskan Black Bear Opportunity – Alaska Glacier Mountain Outfitters

Greg Jennen and I caught up today and he has a great opening for this May on Trophy Black Bear hunted from his 55 foot yacht.  2 hunters booked this trip over a year ago and last minute issues have forced them to abandon this hunt.  Their loss is absolutely your gain.  Greg only has two slots available for this hunt.

Greg sent me the following information on this hunt:

Kevin,

Here’s the black bear info we discussed.

Hunters arrive in Valdez May 10th via ERA Aviation regular scheduled flight.  They spend 1 night at the Best Western, Valdez.  I will meet them early morning on the 11th and we depart for hunting aboard the yacht.

While en route I will sell them their licenses and tags, (I’m a license vendor for the state), and discuss the plan for the afternoon.  Once we get to our hunting area, appoximately 6 hours, we will suit up and go shoot the rifles.  From here on the routine is the same. Each day we board our custom made aluminum bear hunting skiffs, hunt until dark, 11pm,  and return to a home cooked meal prepared by the full-time cook.

If we have any energy left we may watch a movie or listen to satellite radio. we generally sleep in and wake to the smell of breakfast cooking.  After breakfast we take big lunch boxes and put in another day in the skiffs. This is a strictly trophy hunt.  We do not shoot female bears, small bears or rubbed bears.

Shooting opportunity on big males is 100%.

All hides are packed in insulated boxes and frozen for shipment.
