Annual Women’s Antelope Hunt attracts increased support, warranting a 2021 waitlist.

Scholarship opportunities still available!

The 9th Annual Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt will take place Oct 7-10 in 2021 at the Ranch at Ucross in northeast Wyoming. The event will bring together more than 40 female hunters from across the nation for a weekend of hunting, learning, mentorship and camaraderie.

For nearly a decade, this event has provided life-changing opportunities for women as well as raised funds and awareness for its host, the Wyoming Women’s Foundation (WYWF). Since inception, the hunt has raised more than $500,000 for special projects to help women and girls work toward economic self-sufficiency across Wyoming.

In 2021, there has already been a tremendous outpouring of support for the annual event from sponsors and hunters alike. Each year, the number of hunt spots available fluctuates slightly, depending on the pronghorn herds and land available at the event location, with the final number determined as the year unfolds. At this time, all hunt spots have been filled with the exception of those reserved for scholarship recipients. Hunters not already signed up who are interested in attending the 2021 hunt may join a waitlist or apply for a scholarship. Waitlisted applicants may be offered the opportunity to participate if additional spots become available before October.

Applications for 2021 scholarships will be accepted from February 15 – March 15.

Each year, approximately one-third of the hunters attend on scholarship. Feedback from scholarship recipients shows how transformative the experience can be. “I feel like a different woman,” reported a 2020 scholarship recipient. “I’m so grateful I was awarded the scholarship to make this experience possible. My guide was incredible, the event was beautiful and I learned so much more about myself and what I value. I know my life has changed for the better after this amazing weekend.”

The story of the Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt:

The Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt was founded in 2013 by the Wyoming Women’s Foundation (WYWF) as an opportunity for mentoring and developing camaraderie between women and to raise funds for the Wyoming Women’s Foundation’s work for women and girls.

Teaching women to hunt can help them feed their families nutritious food and fulfills WYWF’s mission of investing in the economic self-sufficiency of women. The event emphasizes hunter safety, ethical hunting practices, and conservation of natural resources. Click here to learn more about the Spirit of the Hunt.
