“Arctic Untamed – Wolf Hunting in the White Wilderness” Presented by Hornady & Leupold

DENVER (May 4, 2026) – Outdoor Sportsman Group (OSG) is proud to announce the premiere of Arctic Untamed: Wolf Hunting in the White Wilderness, Presented by Hornady and Leupold, and in partnership with Petersen’s HUNTING. This captivating film, produced in the timeless, unforgiving wilderness of Canada’s Northwest Territories, tells the story of three hunters pitted against the Far North’s most extreme conditions as they embark on a relentless, cross-country journey in pursuit of wolves that threaten the very existence of that region’s remnant barren-ground caribou herd. Buoyed only by the camaraderie forged in meeting difficult daily challenges, the shared trust in their hunting gear, and a growing appreciation for all the amazing animals that call the frozen wilderness home, the determined hunters aim their snow machines across hundreds of miles of Canadian tundra in search of a fleeting glimpse at their quarry.
Available across a mix of OSG’s video platforms, including the Petersen’s HUNTING website, YouTube, MyOutdoorTV and GAME & FISH TV, OSG’s new FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming TV) channel, Arctic Untamed promises a perfect blend of thrilling storytelling, expert insights to hunting the Far North and engaging entertainment designed for viewers looking to share in a truly unique adventure involving one of North America’s most enigmatic apex predators in one of the world’s most spectacular and remote locales.
With team members from presenting partners Hornady and Leupold, as well as Petersen’s HUNTING, Arctic Untamed features three seasoned adventure travelers and storytellers—David Draper, Editor in Chief of Petersen’s HUNTING magazine, Hornady’s Seth Swerczek and Leupold’s Shawn Skipper, all lifelong hunters who have dreamed of traversing these frozen barrens. Together, they take viewers deep into the culture, art and adventure of hunting the Canadian Arctic.
The unfortunate truth is caribou populations are troubled worldwide, and while there is no single contributing factor – certainly climate fluctuation and habitat conditions play a role – solving the population downturn is exceedingly complicated.
“One of the positive ways we can help threatened caribou populations is through wise, if not aggressive, predator management,” said Petersen’s HUNTING Editor in Chief David Draper. “A single Arctic wolf will kill up to 50 caribou each year. Considering the average pack size in Northwest Territories is 4-7 wolves, that adds up to a couple hundred caribou killed annually per pack. It’s easy to see how taking a single wolf off the landscape can affect caribou numbers in a herd as small as several thousand. Armed with a few wolf tags, my hunting partners and I set out on a mission to save a few caribou and secure some trophies in the process on one epic adventure in the Far North.”
“We’re thrilled to have produced a film of this nature – one that captures the story of endurance and survival in a truly rugged land and embodies all the passion, expertise and excitement of hunting in the Canadian Arctic,” said Tim Cremin, Head of Programming at Outdoor Sportsman Group. “David Draper, Seth Swerczek and Shawn Skipper each have an abiding respect for all aspects of the hunt, and Arctic Untamed will be a great resource for anyone wanting to follow in their footsteps.”
