Urbandale, Iowa – August 11, 2008 – Love bird dogs? Iowa’s Forever Outdoors event presented by Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) has just what you’re looking for. Forever Outdoors, taking place September 6th and 7th at Iowa’s iconic Living History Farms in Urbandale, will feature a Bird Dog Brigade presented by Native™ Performance Dog Food and host a regional DockDogs competition presented by Culligan Water.

Dogs will take center stage at the Bird Dog Brigade presented by Native™ Performance Dog Food. The pro-staff from Native™ will provide dog training seminars and be on hand to offer training advice you can take home for the canine in your family. “Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever members across the country are big-time dog enthusiasts and we want to ensure the time they share with their dogs is the best it can be,” said Dave Van Waus, PF/QF regional wildlife biologist in Iowa.

Forever Outdoors will also host a regional DockDogs competition presented by Culligan Water. “We are thrilled about our first opportunity to work with the folks from DockDogs because they bring professional and amateur trainers from all over the country to compete and assist in their events,” said John Linquist, PF/QF regional representative for western Iowa. “This will be a huge draw for dog lovers since it will be non-stop action as the dogs battle it out to see which breed will be crowned champion.”

At the DockDogs competition presented by Culligan Water, you’ll be able to watch local and nationally ranked dogs that can often fly over 20′ through the air. “There will be national champions, world championship competitors, and world record holders competing in this event,” said Native™ pro-staffer Sue Barnes, whose own German Shorthaired Pointer, Tanner, will be competing. Tanner earned an invite to the 2008 DockDogs World Championships-Big Air, holds the World Record jump for a veteran dog (24’2″) and has a personal best jump of 25’5″! Tanner will also be available for “paw-digraphs” – a photo featuring him that he’ll stamp his paw print on.
