Bronson Named RMEF Director of Government Affairs

MISSOULA, Mont. — The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is pleased to welcome Ryan Bronson as its director of government affairs.

“Ryan has a lengthy and successful history advocating for hunting and conservation,” said Kyle Weaver, RMEF president and CEO. “In this day and age, advocating on behalf of our stakeholders is increasingly vital to our mission. Ryan will serve as a tremendous asset for elk and elk country. We are grateful to have him join us.”

A Minnesota native with a degree in biology, Bronson previously worked as a legislative staffer where he specialized in conservation funding, hunting policy and wolf management. He also served with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources where he formed one of the nation’s first programs focused on hunter recruitment and retention.

“As a lifelong and avid hunter as well as a RMEF life member, I strongly believe in RMEF’s mission of ensuring the future of elk, other wildlife, their habitat and our hunting heritage,” said Bronson. “I am honored to join the team and look forward to building on the strong base established by RMEF.”

Bronson spent more than a decade leading the conservation and public policy program in the private sector for dozens of outdoor industry brands. Since 2019, he also served as a private consultant focused primarily on policy solutions for chronic wasting disease.
