Delta Waterfowl Celebrates Earth Day with Premiere of SITKA Gear Film ‘The Duck Queen of Plaquemines Parish’

The Duck Hunters Organization has also renewed SITKA Gear as a “Champion of Delta” corporate partner

BISMARCK, NORTH DAKOTA — The Duck Hunters Organization is excited to share the premiere of the long-awaited SITKA Gear film, “The Duck Queen of Plaquemines Parish,” as part of its Earth Day celebration. The documentary looks at the loss of precious Gulf Coast habitat through the eyes of bayou native Albertine Kimble — a lifelong hunter who sees her heritage slipping away with each lost acre.

“Every day in Louisiana, 25 acres of wetlands disappear,” said Brad Heidel, senior director of corporate partnerships and advertising sales for Delta Waterfowl. “The bayou country is home to an incredibly rich waterfowl hunting culture and it must be preserved. Duck hunters have a huge stake in conserving coastal marshes and other important waterfowl habitat in Louisiana, so it’s truly appropriate that SITKA Gear’s film features this important topic. It shares a message that needs to be spread far and wide.”

“Additionally, we are especially proud to announce today that SITKA Gear has re-upped as a ‘Champion of Delta’ corporate partner,” Heidel said. “Conservation is as much a part of SITKA’s DNA as it is our own.”

According to founder, Jonathan Hart, SITKA Gear was born from the belief that the experience of hunting is as important, if not more important, than the harvest.

“Going places few people go and enduring weather that keeps most hunters home is the fabric of our Tribe,” Hart said. “We live for uncommon experiences and awe-inspiring moments found through the pursuit. Hunting offers a focus rarely afforded to us in the constant distraction we face in our day-to-day lives.

“We are very excited to be back as a ‘Champion of Delta’ sponsor. We are committed to conservation, the environment, and the hunting life. Ducks and geese have always been and always will be a vital part of that. We are proud to partner with The Duck Hunters Organization in duck production and Delta’s cutting-edge HunteR3 efforts.”
