Essential Things That You Need To Bring On Every Hunting Trip

If you’re going on a hunting trip, then there are some things that you need to bring with you. If you don’t properly prepare, then your trip could be cut short. You don’t want to get deep into the woods, only to find out that you’ve missed something important and you have to turn back. In this article, we are going to explain what some essential things you need to bring on your next hunt are:

First Aid Kit

When you’re going hunting, there’s always a chance that you could get injured. Even the most experienced hunters can get hurt from time to time. You should always keep your first aid kit well-stocked so that you can deal with any injuries that occur. You need to make sure that you keep your first aid kit in a dry place, inside your rucksack. You can buy first aid kits from pharmacies, health stores, and even supermarkets.

Tree Stand

A tree stand is also something that you’ll want to bring with you when you go hunting. According to the hunting specialists from https://www.deerhuntingguide.net/best-climbing-tree-stand.html, tree stands make climbing trees more comfortable. If you’re trying to lug heavy hunting gear up a tree without a stand, then there’s a chance that you could hurt yourself or damage your equipment. Tree stands are affordable and easy to find. They’re a piece of equipment that you should always bring with you when you’re hunting in the woods.

Rain Gear

You can’t always accurately predict the weather. If it starts raining when you’re out hunting, your trip could be cut short. It could also be dangerous if you’re far out in the woods and don’t have appropriate clothing or equipment. Carrying rain gear is always useful. At the very least, you should try to wear waterproof clothes. Make sure you always check the forecast before you go out so that you don’t get taken by surprise.

Food And Water

If you’re going out on a long hunting trip, then you need to make sure that you bring food and water along with you. A lot of hunters don’t plan ahead and find themselves cutting their trips short because they’re hungry and thirsty. Not bringing food and water can also be dangerous if you’re going out for extended periods of time in warm weather.

Knife

A knife is also something that you’ll want to bring along with you on your next hunting trip. A knife may come in very handy if you’ve got to cut rope or skin an animal. Some people also enjoy getting up close and personal and hunting with knives. Make sure that you’ve always got one on you, for safety’s sake. If you’re going deep into the woods, you might want to bring a machete with you so that you can cut down brush and create a path. If you’re looking for a good hunting knife, then you should pick up a Bowie knife.

If you’re going hunting, then you’ll need to bring some of the things mentioned on this list with you. Make sure that you’re always prepared when you go hunting so that you don’t get caught off guard.

  1. Great article I assume you should of titled this more specifically “Deer Hunting” if you are including tree stands as essential. I’ve yet to use one while pheasant or turkey hunting 😉 A couple of things I would add as essentials for virtually all hunting would be; methods to start fires, compass, and signaling device like a whistle. I wear a lanyard around my neck that includes a few different methods of starting a fire, a compass and a whistle along with my hunting licenses and some cash, and spare keys. It’s never saved my life but it has saved some discomfort and some long walks.

    1. We agree this article is missing some very important items. We also recommend a quality first aid kit and toilet paper. Every hunt is a little different. I have bins of gear for upland versus deer versus elk or even turkey.
