Frabill Unveils New Ice Combos

Grand Prairie, TX (October 29, 2019) The interest and fervor over ice fishing across the northern tier of states continues to build. Frabill is on the cutting edge of the revelation with its new line of Ice Hunter rod and reel combos.

With five species-specific actions, Frabill’s Ice Hunter Sniper targets bull ‘gills with tiny teardrops to swimming soft plastics for slab papermouths. All of the combos feature a split-grip handle, matte finish rod blanks with a high-visibility tip section, EVA handle for a comfortable grip and stainless steel guides matched to a premium 5+1 ball-bearing spinning reel. The reel has a quick-fold handle, infinite anti-reverse, a multi-disc front drag and left- or right-hand retrieve.

The Finesse Panfish models (FRBRH2800/FRBRH3000) are available in 28- and 30-inch lengths and feature solid fiberglass OT blanks for exceptional feel and forgiveness. The 26-inch ultra-light rod (FRBRH2600) utilizes a solid graphite blank and is the perfect length in the confines of a shelter. When walleye are finicky or jumbo panfish are the target, the 30-inch, light action (FRBRH3001) stick is just what the doctor ordered. The 28-inch, medium/light rod (FRBRH2801) is intended for jigging walleye, but it’s also suited to dead-sticking a shiner minnow.

Ideal to target walleye, pike and mega trout, the Ice Hunter Predator series feature solid graphite rod blanks with five actions from medium/light to heavy each with a little more backbone. The full-length reel seat adds to the rod’s power. The EVA, rubberized cork handle provides a comfortable, sure grip. Stainless steel ice guides resist freeze-up and wear.

The 32-inch, medium/light action walleye rod (FRBRH3200) is the perfect rod for fluttering spoons. The medium-weight (FRBRH2802 and FRBRH3201) multi-purpose rods come in 28- and 32-inch options suited to everything from slip bobbers to dead sticks to jigging. Double-digit walleye and huge northern pike require a stout rod like the 32-inch medium/heavy action Predator (FRBRH3400). The leverage afforded by the heavy-action and length of the 38-inch trout/pike model makes icing even the biggest trophy easy.

Predator rods are matched to spinning reels that feature a quick-fold handle for easy breakdown with right or left hand retrieve, 5+1 ball-bearing drive with a machined aluminum spool and a multi-disc front drag.

Nothing turns finicky panfish off quicker than a wildly spinning jig. The Ice Hunter Finesse Straight Line combos eliminate line twist. Models include a 24-inch solid fiberglass quick-tip version (FRNRH2400) and a 27-inch solid graphite ultra-light configuration (FRBRH2700) for finessing panfish. The rods have a split-grip handle with rubberized cork reel seats, a matte finish and a high-visibility tip. Each outfit is matched to a Frabill 101XLA straight-line reel with a balanced spool, 1:1 ratio, one ball bearing drive, and an oversized ambidextrous handle with optional long and short stems.
