G. Loomis NRX+ T2S Earns Media Accolades
Innovative Rod Recognized by Fly Fisherman Magazine
A unique rod series designed for apex saltwater fly anglers, the new G. Loomis NRX+ T2S boasts an unparalleled fusion of materials, technology, and innovative design features that unite to elevate angler performance under the most challenging conditions. Recognized with the Best in Category: Fly Fishing Rod award in the New Product Showcase at ICAST 2021, NRX+ T2S rods have now added more hardware to the trophy case. In the current Gear Guide from Fly Fisherman magazine, the G. Loomis NRX+ T2S was named the Best New Saltwater Rod for 2022.
The award-winning G. Loomis NRX+ T2S is rolled with Dynamic Recovery Technology, a blend of several premium technologies that unite to create an action with exceptional performance characteristics. Exclusive Mega Modulus+ graphite matrix and GL8 resin, combined with the industry’s most advanced compound taper construction process, creates a crisp action with smooth, rapid recovery. The key to achieving this is a reimagining of G. Loomis’ proprietary Multi-Taper Design technology to yield lightness, strength, and action. As the editors at Fly Fisherman note, “micro-tapers close to the tip help the rod load quickly for casts close to the boat, but it’s also got incredible reserve energy in the butt section for driving long casts into the wind. G. Loomis’ Dynamic Recovery Technology basically increases the effective top and bottom ranges of the rod – sort of like going from cassette tape to digital audio.”
Each NRX+ T2S rod has a unique two-piece configuration that offers one-piece performance with the convenience of compact transportability. Fly Fisherman’s reviewers recognize that, “one-piece rods have been popular choices in saltwater tournaments for years, but they are difficult to transport. The ‘tournament configuration’ of the NRX+ T2S means that it has a 22” butt section and an 86 ¾” tip section for a total length of 8’10”. It’s still a long rod tube, but more in the realm of skis and golf clubs, and much more economical and sensible for shipping, checked luggage, or fitting into a rental car.”
Refinements along the length of each NRX+ T2S blank – from hybrid guide trains, to full wells cork grips, to custom aluminum reel seat and a glare-cutting, matte-black finish – enhance both rod and angler performance. The NRX+ T2S series includes five rods with line ratings of 8-weight to 12-weight to maximize its versatility across the spectrum of saltwater targets. G. Loomis handcrafts each NRX+ T2S rod in Woodland, Washington.
“At G. Loomis, our identity consists of three equal parts: technology, innovation, and design,” asserts Red Kulper, Fly Fishing Brand Manager at G. Loomis. “The new NRX+ T2S is tangible proof of our commitment to push rod building forward in these areas. After receiving the Best in Category award for new fly rods at ICAST 2021, we are truly honored that the Fly Fisherman magazine has named the NRX+ T2S as the Best New Saltwater Rod for 2022!”
The award-winning NRX+ T2S provides power, finesse, and sensitivity over the broadest range of casting distances and styles.
