This lantern is one of the best lights we have had the pleasure of reviewing. The features are amazing and this light is ultra-bright. The Cairn XL is quite a bit more than just a lantern. It can charge up to 4 mobile devices with 10K MAH of fast-charging ability. It pairs with your phone to provide a complete app that allows you to program the Cairn to control it. Lander knocked it out of the park with this device.
The Cairn App
The Cairn XL app is free on Google Play and the App Store from Apple. It allows you to control power, dimming, color, light alarms, proximity lighting, battery settings and a light strobe. You can control multiple devices and adjust the devices to the exact color setting or intensity that you are looking for. I have one of these, but plan on buying two more so we can set up perimeter lighting for our camp trips. The three lanterns will light up our camp perfectly. Lander thought very long and hard about this; each light comes with straps that allow you to hang the lantern or attach it to just about anything. I have even used this light while filming because I can change the color of the light to the exact color that I want for my photos or videos.
Having light in a camp is not always about intensity. Even though the Cairn XL has 350 lumens, most times you do not want that much intensity. Having the ability to dial up or down the intensity makes this lantern so incredibly versatile for everyday use. They can work without pairing via Bluetooth with the phone but honestly they are even better when paired.

The Cairn is exceptional. The light quality and the immense amount of power in this unit makes this lantern a device that should plan on taking with you outdoors. Pick one up from Lander and check out the Cairn Lantern and the Cairn Mini Lantern as well. I am going to stick with the XL because I know after several days it is still going to work and I may need to charge a device or two on my weekend trips.
