Lund Boats Selected as the Premiere Sponsor of 2020 Minnesota Governor’s Fishing Opener
NEW YORK MILLS, Minn. Oct. 15, 2019 – The planning committee for Otter Tail County, MN announced this week that Lund Boats was selected the premiere boat sponsor for the 2020 Minnesota Governor’s Fishing Opener. A new Lund 1875 Impact XS with Mercury 150 HP 4-Stroke engine will be used as a raffle and the Minnesota Governor and Lieutenant Governor will both be fishing from a 1975 Pro V Limited at next year’s celebration in Otter Tail County.
Minnesota has a long-standing tradition for celebrating the fishing opener and this will mark the 73rd Annual Governor’s Fishing Opener. The event will be held May 7-11, 2020 in Otter Tail County and will consist of several great activities such as a public celebration and picnic at Phelps Mill Park planned for Friday, May 8th as well as a free online Fishing Derby from midnight until 4pm on Saturday, May 9th. The annual event is coordinated by Explore Minnesota, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and a new host community each year.
