MeatEater’s Clay Newcomb announced as the 2025 National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic Keynote Speaker
Arkansas native and avid outdoorsman will join the celebration of Quail Forever’s 20th anniversary in Kansas City
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are thrilled to introduce Clay Newcomb – writer, filmmaker, mule-skinner, hound trainer, artist, conservationist and trad archer – as the keynote speaker and featured guest for the 2025 National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic celebration dinner. Passes are now available to hear Newcomb’s message and attend the nation’s foremost upland hunting and conservation tradeshow coming to the Kansas City Convention Center in Kansas City on March 7-9, presented by Federal Ammunition.
“We need groups like Quail Forever who are interested in habitat and conservation — not just state agencies but citizen groups,” Newcomb said. “When a resource is culturally valued it will be protected. I’m very excited to attend this year’s Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic as the keynote speaker and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Quail Forever with everyone.”
A member of the MeatEater and FirstLite teams, Newcomb is a 7th-generation Arkansan who grew up in the Ouachita Mountains. His skills and passions as a hunter are diverse: If it walks, crawls or flies in Arkansas, he has hunted it.
Most importantly, Newcomb is a father and husband who prides himself in balancing his responsibilities and passions. In the short film, “Newcomb”, he shares his methods for integrating business, the outdoors and family in his life.
