Mule Deer Foundation Re-Opening President/CEO Search
Salt Lake City, UT: The Mule Deer Foundation is accepting applications for the position of President & CEO. The successful candidate will replace Miles Moretti who is retiring after 14½ years at the helm of the organization. Moretti originally announced his retirement in January 2020, to take effect in Fall 2020, but agreed to postpone his retirement to help maintain stability through the COVID-19 restrictions. The organization is now re-opening the search to identify a leader that will take MDF to the next level, while continuing the great work already achieved.shooting sportsThe job description is available on the MDF website and applications will be accepted until October 15, 2020. The successful applicant will start in the new position on March 1, 2021 to provide one month of transition before Moretti’s official retirement date of March 31, 2021.
“The Mule Deer Foundation has come a long way in the 14½ years that Miles has been leading the organization. We wish him well in his retirement and also look forward to further growth under a new President & CEO,” commented Aaron Oelger, chairman of the MDF board of directors. “The board is confident that there will be broad interest in this rare opportunity to lead one of the country’s top wildlife conservation groups and steer it into the future.”
The Mule Deer Foundation has experienced staff and passionate volunteers, and the new President & CEO will lead them to implement the board-developed strategic plan. This will include the strategic and visionary leadership to build membership, increase donor support, and continue MDF’s important role on state and national policy development. The President & CEO position will require a strong background in wildlife conservation and management and be able to develop partnerships with other wildlife agencies and non-governmental organizations. The position will also require continued oversight in producing the Western Hunting & Conservation Expo.
“We look forward to reviewing potential applicants for this position and are confident that we will be able to identify an individual who can carry on Miles’ legacy while also building on his success to take the organization to the next level,” concluded MDF board vice-chair, Chad Shearer.
