Nashville, NASCAR and Bass Pro Shops Team Up for CSF’s 16th Annual Wine, Wheels & Wildlife

October 15, 2020 (WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Yesterday, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) partnered with NASCAR Hall of Famer and CSF Honorary Board Member Richard Childress to host CSF’s 16th Annual Wine, Wheels & Wildlife. Normally held every year at Childress Vineyards in Lexington, North Carolina, this year’s event took place virtually where a number of representatives from the hunting and angling industry recognized the tremendous achievements set forth by CSF across America.

The virtual event featured a brimming group of pro-sportsmen and women personalities from around the country. Richard Childress, founder and CEO of Richard Childress Racing (RCR), Johnny Morris, founder and CEO of Bass Pro Shops, and John Paul Morris, spoke about the significance of our nation’s great outdoor heritage and the important role CSF plays for America’s sportsmen and women.

Attendees were also entertained with performances by country music stars Mark Wills, Chris Janson, Bass Pro Shops Ambassador Stephanie Quayle, and a special performance by John Rich. Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior David Bernhardt also addressed attendees reinforcing the administration’s focus on preserving and expanding opportunities for recreational shooting, hunting, angling, and trapping.

Attended by leaders of the sportsmen’s community, NASCAR representatives, federal and state elected officials representing both sides of the aisle, and other CSF supporters, this year’s virtual event demonstrated the camaraderie that has been built among these various groups for the betterment of sportsmen and women.

“I am honored to be a partner of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation as they are dedicated in helping to allow me, and other fellow sportsmen, the opportunity to keep pursuing our personal passion for the great outdoors,” said Richard Childress, Chairman and CEO of RCR. “As hunters and anglers themselves, they bring together their personal experience with their strong background in policy and work to ensure we can pass these great traditions down to future generations.”

The event concluded with a virtual live auction as a part of the night’s entertainment to help CSF further its efforts of protecting and advancing hunting, angling, recreational shooting and trapping in the halls of government.

“CSF is grateful for the continued support of Richard Childress in hosting this annual event for more than 15 years,” said CSF President Jeff Crane. “This event is critical in supporting the ongoing efforts of the Foundation, not just in North Carolina, but across the nation. Each year, this event brings together some of the top leaders in the sportsmen’s conservation community who are dedicated in ensuring pro-hunting and fishing policies are advanced in the halls of government and the outcome of this virtual event represents the commitment within this community.”

CSF, through support from Richard Childress Racing as well as other partnerships, championed several priorities on behalf of America’s sportsmen and women this year and throughout the entire 116th Congress. Achievements such as the recent passage and enactment of the historic Great American Outdoors Act and passage of America’s Conservation Enhancement Act (S. 3051) out of the U.S. House and Senate are just a few examples of what has made the 116th Congress the most successful for conservation and our nation’s great outdoor heritage.

Title Sponsors of the event included Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, Childress Vineyards and Richard Childress Racing.

Since 1989, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) has maintained a singleness of purpose that has guided the organization to become the most respected and trusted sportsmen’s organization in the political arena. CSF’s mission is to work with Congress, governors, and state legislatures to protect and advance hunting, angling, recreational shooting and trapping. The unique and collective force of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC), the Governors Sportsmen’s Caucus (GSC) and the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC), working closely with CSF, and with the support of major hunting, angling, recreational shooting and trapping organizations, serves as an unprecedented network of pro-sportsmen elected officials that advance the interests of America’s hunters and anglers.
