EDGEFIELD, S.C. — The National Wild Turkey Federation thanks the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Farm Service Agency for opening enrollment to the Conservation Reserve Program, the farm bill program more commonly referred to as CRP.
“We are pleased private landowners are able to once again enroll in the program as CRP serves to establish quality habitat for turkeys, quail, waterfowl and countless nongame species,” NWTF CEO Becky Humphries said.
According to a news release by the FSA, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is opening signup for the CRP on December 9, 2019. The deadline for agricultural producers to sign up for general CRP is February 28, 2020, while signup for continuous CRP is ongoing.
Landowners are encouraged to contact their local USDA service centers or FSA offices to learn more about the program, determine eligibility and sign up their acreage.
