OptiFade Concealment Products – Initial Thoughts

On September 30th, 2008 W.L Gore & Associates announced that it was partnering exclusively with Sitka Gear in order to bring the Optifade Concealment Pattern to the Sitka Gear Line.  By early next week Team HuntingLife will get the opportunity to test out this product in the field for the fall season.  We are going to be testing this product in the field on the East Coast and in the Canadian woodlands.

This product and concealment pattern looks to be incredibly impressive.  While I have not yet been able to test out this pattern in the woods, I am incredibly excited to see a pattern that was created by the partnership of the Retired Lieutenant Colonel Tim O’Neill, PHD(The Father of Digital Camouflage”), Guy Cramer(founder and CEO of HyperStealth Bio Technology Corp) and Dr. Jay Neitz(Animal Vision Exper at the Medical College of Wisconsin).  With this much talent and understanding of concealment science that is specifically tailored to hoofed animals and ungulates, I can not be more excited to try out this technology during this season.

The first Sitka gear featuring GORE® OPTIFADE™ Concealment Products will be available at retail in 2009 and is maximized for hunting deer and other hoofed animals in the Mountain West.  For more information about GORE® OPTIFADE™ Concealment Products visit www.optifade.com.

Between now and the time this gear is available in 2009, Team HuntingLife is committed to testing out this pattern on hoofed animals and turkeys, waterfowl and other species.  We have some pretty cool pictures to show what the deer will see when a hunter is using this technology.
