Sportsman Channel Host Jeff Danker Returns and Country Music Recording Artist Cody Johnson Joins to Provide Viewers with Fifth Annual Installment of #DeerWeek
Historically, the fifth anniversary is noted as the “wood” anniversary. As Outdoor Channel and Sportsman Channel launch Year Five of Outdoor Sportsman Group Networks’ #DeerWeek presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors – on September 13-19 (7 p.m.–Midnight) – the theme of the anniversary will be amended to “woods” in honor of the special time of year in which deer hunters wait to celebrate. Sportsman Channel host Jeff Danker returns and country music recording artist Cody Johnson joins to provide viewers with fun, exciting and educational perspectives about deer hunting and the upcoming season.
“In television, to come up with a program that has the staying power to survive more than one year is an amazing tribute to the producers and personnel that propel an idea forward,” Outdoor Sportsman Group Head of Programming Tim Cremin said. “In 2021, Outdoor Channel and Sportsman Channel celebrate the fifth anniversary of a programming concept that was born in a brainstorming meeting and brought to fruition with focus on the excitement, camaraderie, adventure and anticipation for the special time of year our viewers crave – deer hunting season.”
#DeerWeek, launched in 2017, is a unique, week-long, cross-platform event featuring primetime programming showcasing deer-specific content on Outdoor Channel and Sportsman Channel. This year marks the fifth consecutive year of this specialized programming event.
#DeerWeek content also will be front and center in relevant print, digital and social media platforms owned, operated and distributed by Outdoor Sportsman Group Networks and Outdoor Sportsman Group Publishing arms. With nearly 230 overall hours, nearly 70 primetime hours of deer-centric content and nearly 100 episodes, Outdoor Channel and Sportsman Channel programming will be dedicated to the week-long celebration of deer hunting. Content also will be made available to six (Bowhunter, Petersen’s Bowhunting, North American Whitetail, Petersen’s HUNTING, Game & Fish and Guns & Ammo) of Outdoor Sportsman Group Publishing’s 16 magazines and 20 online websites and digital outlets including streaming video-on-demand service MyOutdoorTV (MOTV), as well as Outdoor Sportsman Group’s vast array of social media platforms.
